Same girl as below, although you'd never guess it. I actually have several pictures of her, and in no two cases does she look even remotely alike, although she does stick with the same general color scheme. This is a much older version, done around '97 or so, if I'm not mistaken (part of the give-away is the fact that I make absolutely no attempt to ink her, although there's plenty of later stuff that's gone uninked as well). Pencil and colored pencils, probably Prismacolors. |

Yet another member of the group that includes the blueman, the conman and the immortal-computer dude. Like the others, I don't remember her name, but I do remember that this one was more Mandy's creation than mine (most are joint efforts). Her primary purpose was to provide the human perspective in a group of oddball aliens. She's a firestarter type, and apparently her powers include the ability to not light her own hair on fire. Pencils, ink, colored pencils. Completed in 1999. |

Another hero whose name I've forgotten, in the same group as the blue man and conman (below). Immortal, nearly all knowing information source, but nearly non-sapient. Time's worn away his personality until he's become little more than an organic databank. Drawn in pencil, colored in colored watercolor pencils. Done in 2000. |

Same super group as the blue man (below) and enemy to Kreela (below). This guy's a con man whose super powers are to make people trust, like, and believe him. He's technically a good guy, but not a nice guy, although he puts out a nice guy image. Very vain. Once more, don't remember his name. Pencils, ink, colored pencils with metallic pen highlights. Completed 1999 or 2000. |

This is Kreela, an entity formed of chaos. She's playing what's called "the Forbidden Game," where she starts at the beginning of time, destroys it (since time still, at one time, began, it doesn't automatically destroy all the realities), spends eternity jumping from one reality to another at critical points and pulling the right "string" to destroy them (following rules that make no sense to the minds of us mere mortals), then finishes at the end of time and destroys that, too. This does destroy all of reality, and all realities. She's doing it because she was bored and it seemed like a fun idea. Of course, someone took the trouble to forbid this game, so she may one day have to face the music... Drawn in pencil, colored in colored pencils. Done in 2000. |

Another 1999 sketch of another Paradise superhero. This one's built on the old "reporter secret identity" arch-type, and has electrical powers. He calls himself "Blue Thunder," and yes, that is an intentional Ramna reference (well, on my part, not his... he's probably never heard of Ranma). One of those boy-scout heroes. Pencil and colored pencil. |

From 2000. There are all sorts of anatomical errors on this one, but I'm posting it anyway because the colors are really pretty. Member of a superhero team that my friend, Amanda Odom, and I created, and I think she gets the primary credit for this guy. We were working on-and-off with archetypes, and this guy combines the role of the team's Boy Scout with their main muscle. Yes, I know he has no mouth. We wanted him to be the ultimate expression of the saying "Actions speak louder than words," so we declared that his whole species cannot speak, and instead communicate through body language, facial expression, and, of course, their actions. They don't eat, but instead draw direct sustenance from the energies of the universe. So why does he even have a jawbone? Because we wanted him to, that's why. |

Older sketch, from `99, I believe. Block and Tackle, two more superheroes from Paradise. A married pair. Block is the female, and is telepathic, while Tackle is telekinetic. The pair have a psychic link (of course). The sketch could be better, but I really like their cheesy costumes. Pencil and colored pencil. |

This is Artemis, a psycho vigilante-type that lives in Paradise, the city I use whenever I feel like running a Supervillains campaign. Yes, I know, DC already has a character named Artemis. Look, I'm sorry... this chick isn't particularly creative. Actually, all the "heroes" of Paradise have an air of the generic to them, since the city was created with the intent that the villains should be the focus. |
