IHQ
Training Room
This large, heavily armored chamber lies
between the Troop Hall and the Officers Hall. Large double doors lead to either
hall, so that the high command might enter at their leisure to watch the
training bouts. Two small stairways lead to armored observation areas, one
above each of the entryways. A standard training drone waits next to the troop
entrance until activated. The walls, while heavily armored and shielded, also
contain holo-projectors, weapons mounts, shield generators, and cameras,
allowing for any opponent or environment to be simulated, while also allowing
those present within the armored observation area to watch and record what goes
on beneath them.

South <S> leads to IHQ Troop Hall.
East <E> leads to IHQ Officers Hall.
Scrapper
arrives from the IHQ Troop Hall to the south.
Scrapper
has arrived.
Long
Haul is taking a break from carrying various things from various point As to
various point Bs, because he's had just about all he can stand of that for the
moment, so instead he's taking out his irritation with his job, his brothers,
his life, the Empire, the universe, and so on, and so on, and so forth, on a
helpless drone. Well, not exactly a helpless drone, as it has weapons. The
Constructicon swings a fist at the drone, right at the center of the thing.
You
strike Training Drone with Fists of Black.
Training
Drone emits, "7 points of damage done."
You
evade Training Drone's cannon attack.
Scrapper
is the bringer of bad news! Hey, he's the Constructicon foreman, and someone
has to wander around every now and then and remind the Constructicons that they
actually have jobs to do. Nevermind that in telling the others to go work he's
not actually getting any work done. He doesn't actually pay any attention to
what Long Haul's doing and starts right off, "We're low on potentiometers
again..."
Long
Haul turns around to glo- to fro- uh... to think unpleasant thoughts in
Scrapper's direction, the action of turning, by complete accident, moving him
out of the way of the drone's cannon. "What?!?" he exclaims.
"Already? I just transported a load of those in five cycles ago!
Whaddyaguys doing with the things, /eatin'/ 'em?"
But
they're so tasty with jam! Not that Long Haul would ever be able to catch
Scrapper eating potentiometers, as he doesn't have a mouth. Scrapper narrows
his optic band and needles, "You obviously didn't bring in a big enough
load, then.
"Last
time I brought in a box that big, it lasted five astromonths!" grumbled
the other. Finally he waves a hand. "It can wait another hour or two.
We're low, not out." With that he turns around and rabbit punches the
drone.
You
strike Training Drone with Double Fisted Rabbit Punch.
Training
Drone emits, "13 points of damage done."
You
evade Training Drone's special attack.
Scrapper
looks at Long Haul disdainfully and postulates, "And what if the high
command rolls in all busted up and needing new potentiometers? Do you want to
be the one to tell them that we don't have enough potentiometers for all of
them?"
Long
Haul turns around again, once more accidentally avoiding an attack. Boy, he'll
be in trouble if he ever actually pays attention to the thing. "Whut, all
at once? If they were doin' something like that, we'd have already heard about
it. And you wouldn't be here pesterin' me, anyways. Besides, y'gotta be
exaggerating. I checked on the potentmo- petontmo- those things just a couple
days ago. We had plenty!"
Scrapper
waggles a finger disapprovingly and snaps, in a schoolmaster's tone, "If
you can't even say what they are, how do you know what we have enough of them?
For all I know, you've got them mixed up with petrol-derived products."
Because
he can read the labels on the boxes, even if he can't say 'em out loud. After
all, a supply officer doesn't need to know what something does to keep it in
stock! Long Haul grunts. "Well, if you're /that/ worried about me gettin'
'em mixed up with somethin' else, than why don't you get them yerself?"
With that the dump truck former spins gracelessly back around and backhands the
drone, this time imagining it to be Scrapper.
You
strike Training Drone with Backhand.
Training
Drone emits, "7 points of damage done."
You
evade Training Drone's plasma attack.
Scrapper
looks shocked. Him go get something himself? If Scrapper could go get things on
his own, his brother wouldn't have a job! Devastator wouldn't be able to sit
down without Long Haul, so they can't have that. Scrapper scowls and shakes his
head, "Don't be such a pain about this. It's not as if you're doing
anything important."
Rather
than turning back around completely Long Haul just turns his head to look back
at his brother, the movement once more causing the drone to miss. "I'm
takin' a break! I been haulin' stuff all day!" As the plasma blast goes
past the Construction tilts his head and radiates puzzlement for a moment,
bringing his arm up to scratch the back of his domed cranium. He jerks his
thumb at the drone. "Hey, y'think this thing's glitched or somethin'? I
ain' even been tryin' to dodge and it hasn't hit me yet."
Scrapper
finally pays a bit of attention to what Long Haul's doing and peers at the
training drone. He shudders slightly and shakes his head. Scrapper explains,
"Long Haul, we don't question these things. The moment you start asking
why is the moment the drone starts hitting you."
Like
gremlins? Only a non-tech like Long Haul wouldn't know about the thing.
"Well, let's test it, then." He brings up one of his heavy feet to
kick the drone, shouting, "Why?!" at the thing.
Training
Drone evades your Dump Truck Foot attack.
You are
temporarily incapacitated by Training Drone's special attack.
Long
Haul is momentarily dazed by the drone's attack, causing him to stumble back
and grumble incoherently.
Scrapper
covers his face with his hands. Did Long Haul listen to a word that he said? Of
course not. Then he places his hands on his hips, glares at Long Haul, and says
rather loudly, "Didn't I just tell you not to do that? And look, didn't it
do just what I said it would?"
Scrapper
strikes you with thwap! Never ask "Why?" for 6 points of damage.
Long
Haul raises his arm in a useless attempt to ward off the attack. "Hey!
Wuzzat... why'd you do that?" the dump truck growls, taking a couple of
steps back and shaking his head vigorously in an attempt to clear it.
"Why, I oughtta..." of course, he's in no condition to attack just
yet, but between the clenching of his fists and his general stance, he's
probably about to once he recovers.
"Because
you didn't listen to me!" Scrapper shouts, tossing his arms in the air. He
feels like shaking Long Haul. He's been a Constructicon this long and he
doesn't know not to invoke Murphytron's law? That's beyond stupid. That's
mind-boggling. So Scrapper does indeed lunge forward and try to shake some
sense into him.
Scrapper
succeeds in grasping Long Haul, throwing him off-balance.
"Hey!
Cutitout!" Long Haul shouts as he's grabbed and shaken back and forth.
Rattle-rattle-rattle! "I said, CUT IT OUT!" he repeats himself,
bringing his arms up and pushing out at Scrapper, trying to both get his
brother to let him go and knock him away rather forcefully at the same time.
You
strike Scrapper with Back Off, Bro!.
Scrapper
staggers back. He stares at Long Haul incredulously and sputters, "I give
you some good advice, you ignore it, and then you get surly on me? Well!"
He swings a leg at Long Haul, the ingrate.
Scrapper
strikes you with Kicking the enemy to Scrap for 3 points of damage.
Long
Haul is always surly! This hardly started when Scrapper arrived! He doesn't
stumble back at the kick because, well... it's a pretty damned weak kick.
"What was /that/ s'posed to be? Y'trying to insult me or something? And
besides, you HIT ME FIRST!" And with that Long Haul tries to emphasize his
point in an attempt to backhand Scrapper, just like he had done to the drone
not too long ago.
Scrapper
evades your Wuss! attack.
Scrapper
ducks out of the way of his brother's backhand and glowers. He hisses, fairly
biting out the words despite not having any teeth, "I hit you first
because you are wilfully ignorant and deserve a smack!" Besides, this is
all in a training room, so not only does Scrapper not have to worry about
getting reprimanded for infighting, but he doesn't have to fix Long Haul when
this is over. Joy! He lunges forward again, looking to box Long Haul on
the...audio sensors? Something like that.
Scrapper
strikes you with Looking to Scavenge some Autoparts for 10 points of damage.
Long
Haul stumbles back this time, his non-ears ringing. That DID hurt! "Hey!
Wuzza... ooooo! You'll pay for that!" snarls the other, despite not having
a mouth. 'You'll pay for that'. Be careful, folks, we're going into wit
overload here! Long Haul continues back for several paces and then transforms
before rolling right for his brother and leader.
Long
Haul folds in on himself and transforms into a dump truck.
You
strike Scrapper with Oooo, You’ll Pay For That.
Scrapper
recoils as a big ol' dump truck smacks right into him. Oh, that hurt. Virtual
chunks of lime green armour chip off and are inadvertently crunched under foot.
Getting a bit of a running start, he tries to bash into the front cabin of the
dump truck. If verbal advice doesn't work, then maybe a physical schoolin'
will. Although more likely Scrapper will just get himself beat silly.
Scrapper
strikes you with Bonecrushing Smash for 12 points of damage.
Dump
Truck <Long Haul> gets his cabin virtually knocked in by Scrapper! That
hurt, too! Maybe he shouldn't have made fun of his kick... not that that'll
keep him from doing so again in the future. Rather than answering he transforms
and tries to make a grab for Scrapper, intent on holding him down and pounding
some... some... some 'stop breaking up Long Haul's traning sessions over
stoopid ponten- peton- things!'-edness into him.
The
dump truck stretches out and unfolds into Long Haul.
Long
Haul succeeds in grasping Scrapper, throwing it off-balance.
Ironically,
it's not like Scrapper's arrival really caused a long stop in Long Haul's
'beating on stuff'-ness; it just shifted the target. Now grabbed by his
brother, the structural engineer tries to wriggle out of the other
Constructicon's grip. To that end, he transforms, trying to bring down his
shovel on Long Haul as he does.
In a
simple, utilitarian transformation, Scrapper becomes a payloader. His lower
legs fold over his thighs. His arms tuck along his sides. His head retracts
into his body, and his shovel folds down into place.
You
evade Scrapper's slap attack.
Long
Haul catches Scrapper's shovel and grunts, keeping it from slamming down on
him. Slowly, ever so slowly, he stands up, grunting as he does so. With one
final push he forces Scrapper's shovel away and tries to overturn him hard
enough to do a good bit of damage... a failure here more than likely means that
he didn't put quite enough force into the push or some such, and his brother
was able to avoid serious damage. His player will let Scrapper's player figure
it out.
You
strike Scrapper with Wall And Floor.
Scrapper
is flipped over and hits the floor hard, his canopy buckling. Argh, he could be
back in the med bay, enjoying having a full stash of potentiometers, but noo...
He transforms again and, spinning on the floor, tries to kick Long Haul's feet
out from under him to send him crashing to the floor.
The payloader
unfolds into robotic form. His lower legs rotate away, revealing his upper
legs. His arms come out from his side. His shovel flips onto his back. Finally,
his head emerges from his torso, completing the transformation.
Scrapper
strikes you with Kicking the enemy to Scrap for 4 points of damage.
Long
Haul's leg is kicked, but it's not enough to unbalance him. "What is that?
Y'call that a kick? This is a kick!" With that the supply officer raises
his own right foot and attempts to bring it down on his brother, intending to
educate his senior officer on what a PROPER kick should feel like.
You
have set the custom name for attack kick in mode 1 to "This Is A
Kick."
Scrapper
evades your This Is A Kick attack.
Scrapper
scrapes himself off the floor, shovel drooping with the pain of accumulated
damage. He's up just in time to avoid Long Haul's lesson in the fine art of
kicking. He rasps tauntingly, "It'd be a better kick if it
connected!" Then Scrapper gets out his energon-sword. It may be admitting
defeat to resort to weapons and it may only encourage Long Haul to use stronger
attack, but hey, Scrapper's not known for tactics. He swings the sword up high
and brings it down for an over-head smash.
Scrapper
strikes you with Instrument of Construction for 11 points of damage.
But
Long Haul doesn't have any weapons! He just has a pathetic little laser! And...
wait a minute... The sword come down, biting into the left cheek-guard of his
non-face. He brings his hand up and makes a hissing noise. "Why, you...
you... CHEAT! I'll show you!" With that he transforms once more, rolls
back a bit, and.... oh, goodness. Guess what he's aiming in his brother's
direction?
Long
Haul folds in on himself and transforms into a dump truck.
Scrapper
evades your Get Your Mind Out Of The Gutter! attack.
Scrapper
throws himself out of the way just as soon as he sees that Long Haul's
transforming. He doesn't want to get run over again, no sirree. This is handy,
because it means the rockets miss him. He parries back, "I don't seem to recall
us ever declaring any rules!" As if to confirm that statement, he gets out
his own ranged weapon and points it in the direction of his truckly brethren.
You
evade Scrapper's Devastating blast attack.
When
his attack misses Scrapper, Long Haul backs up again and turns to follow his
running brother, intending to do exactly what Scrapper had been worried he was
going to do to begin with. It is this motion that allows him to evade Scrappers
attack. What? Surely you don't expect he dodged as a dump truck, do you? With
that he shifts gears and roars forward, trying to slam his brother against the
wall. "Oh... just shuttup!"
You
strike Scrapper with Brotherly Love.
Scrapper
smacks into the wall, with the sound of pressurized parts being forcefully
depressurized against their will. Dazed and hurting, the Constructicon decides
that he has had enough of being run over by surly green dump trucks for today.
He decides to leave now, while he can still walk out, rather than a) running
out in terror or b) needing to be carried out. Scrapper stands slowly, joints
creaking, and, fancies that he at least has a shred or two of dignity intact.
He points at the drone and yells, "Fine! Ask it 'Why?' and see if I care
when you get cannoned!" Then, he makes to storm out of the training room.
Dump
Truck <Long Haul> gloats as Scrapper leaves, despite having no obvious
gloating mechanisms. Sure, as soon as he's done he'll be heading out to pick
out those potentiometers, but in the meanwhile, he might as well enjoy his
momentary victory. As the other heads to the door he backs up and turns towards
the drone, somehow seeming to eye it curiously despite being truck at the
moment. Finally he runs forward at it, shouting "Why?!" as he does.
Just to see...
You
strike Training Drone with Why?.
Training
Drone emits, "17 points of damage done."
You
evade Training Drone's cannon attack.
