Holo
Arena
Inside the Holo Arena are black,
rubber-coated walls to protect the steel and also to reduce the noise, as these
sparring matches can get very violent. A central control room is suspended from
the ceiling, heavily reinforced to protect the advanced computer that controls
the holo-imaging and stores thousands of simulation scenariors. If a desired
scenario isn't already available, then the computer allows for additional
programming.

Chimera
comes into the Holo Arena.
Fleet
looks at the controls and the program list, and actually smirks.
"Unfortunatly, the only program list Geist unlocked for me before he left
was the one to develop agility, and at this point I believe that we've both
exceeded that."
Chimera
has her arms folded, and shakes her head, "I never had a problem with
that." she's still a bit... wary about the whole thing. "Ever."
Fleet
shakes his head. "Well, I don't believe he knew when he left for...
whatever they've got him doing... that he'd be taking you on as a student.
Considering no one at all knew before Scourge announced it." The yellow
seeker looks up at the other. "I'm really sorry about that, by the
way."
Chimera
shrugs. "I think Scourge came up with that on the spur of the moment."
she says softly, "It wasn't your fault." And she takes a look at the
unlocked program. "That one... looks boring." The sudden smirk at the
realization that Geist isn't going to be happy about taking her on as a
student.... ooh that just tickles her.
Fleet
crosses his arms as he studies the list. "I think he's going to find
something else to train us on when he returns, honestly." He rests his
hands an the console, using his arms as support, and looks up at Chimera.
"Well, just want to do a practice fight? See how quickly you can take me
down, or some such?"
Chimera
gives Fleet something of a feral grin. Not very nice, is she. "Promise not
to squeek too much?" she says, reaching over to tag him on the shoulder.
"You're it." No. She's not making that much sense. "I won't hurt
you. Much."
No,
she's not making much sense. The Seeker vaults over the console but doesn't
bother landing, instead using the thing to push off into the air. "Don't
worry about it," he answers. "It's all mock-pain anyway!" With that
he brings his arms in and holds his legs straight and twirls in the air until
he's facing Chimera, flinging out his right arm and firing off a shot as soon
as she's within view. "And I make no promises!"
Chimera
evades your Squeaking Mouse Laser! attack.
Outside,
F-35 <Catechism> arrives from the NCC Central Hub to the west.
Outside,
F-35 <Catechism> has arrived.
Chimera
smirks. Yeah. Her words sometimes make no sense. But her reflexes are
definately not in question. "Too bad." she retorts, and flips over
the shot. Not that that was a challenge. "Then I won't take it easy on
you." Landing on the arena floor, she makes an almost elegant gesture. Arm
flexes, in what looks almost like a slow, lazy wave. Of course, it's punctuated
by a gout of flame. "Hotfoot." she announces.
You
evade Chimera's hotfoot attack.
Fleet
doesn't expect his foes to make things easy on him, because he just runs away
when things get too hard! He swings his right foot backwards, using the
momentum to spin himself around entirely as though in an airborne pirouette,
arms actually held out this time, weapons clicking slightly as they change
modes. Doing this means that it's his left side that comes into view first, and
it is the outstretched left arm that fires at the female, a slight smile on his
face that almost seems unconnected to the situation.
Chimera
evades your Rail Gun attack.
Chimera
was still on the ground, and doing very well at... running forward as Fleet
starts firing those rail guns at her. Which means she's not where he expected.
The little launch off the ground is probably also unexpected-- she finally hits
her bootjets, and ... swings a fist at Fleet. She's up close and personal
today. And a nutbag.
You
evade Chimera's WHACK attack.
Apparently
not that unexpected... really, the thing about Chimera's fighting style that
confuses Fleet the most is the fact that she spends so much time on the ground
to begin with. As Chimera approaches, Fleet leans back to avoid the punch...
and back... and back... pulling his knees up towards his chest as he does until
he's curled up and 'laying' horizontal in the air. At that he kicks his feet
out and triggers his bootjets. Hit or miss in his kick, he's still moving away
from Chimera.
Chimera
evades your Pastel Seeker Hookerboots attack.
As much
as that kick hit the player in the funnybone, Chimera was able to compensate.
Twisting in the air, she makes a quick movement to bring out one of her
favorite things. Yeah. That'd be a gun. You're lucky. It's just the laser. And
she does spend an inordinate amount of time on the ground. There's a reason.
Maybe one day the yellow seeker will ask her.
Chimera
strikes you with laser lovin' for 8 points of damage.
Well,
the yellow seeker would have to spend a lot more time watching her fighting
style to get curious enough to ask. But wait a minute! That's right! They're
now assigned to train together (no matter how absurdly lopsided that may be).
He'll probably be asking about the guns (as opposed to nice little shoulder
lasers) first. As Fleet rockets away from Chimera he once more curls up (taking
the shot in his right knee as he does so. Ouch! The shins!), spinning on the
longitude even as he moves into a strange upside down 'sitting' position, one
leg and one knee stretched towards Chimera, the other foot pointed towards the
ceiling, upside-down-face watching her as both arms reach out as though to give
her a long distance hug.
Chimera
evades your Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle (Pulse Mode) attack.
Chimera
has shoulder lasers? Oh.... Um... sure. She's got those. She just prefers to
use the other kind of guns. And... that position kind bothers her. Upside down?
She flings those little shards of metal as she moves away from the attack.
Sure. Shiruiken.
You
evade Chimera's shiruiken attack.
Thrown
weapons are, after a fashion, easier to dodge than guns (if you're talking
realistically, and not generic code-talk), and thus it is that Fleet is able to
swing both legs up and then 'swim' downwards, out of the way of shards. Rather
than continuing straight down, however (which would eventually hurt), the
seeker begins to curve up and diagonally. He's not underneath her, but he's
moving more towards her than away, pointing up with her with his right arm and
bringing to bear his deadly... his terrible... his horrible... taser attack!
You
strike Chimera with Death By A Thousand Papercuts.
<OOC
Editor’s Note: Thanks to a disconnect, I’m missing a bit of the log. I know
that just prior to the next pose, Fleet had successfully hit Chimera with a
melee attack.>
Chimera
is cruelly mechhandled. Owie. But you know something? She likes it rough...
er... or something like that. "Not bad..." she comments, once she's
recovered her momentum from the strike. And rounds a palm towards that burning
face. "But you know what I have to do after a thing like that..."
Chimera
missed you with slap.
Of
course, Fleet hadn't intended to stay in close combat anyway, and thus it is
that he's already backing away when the slap comes, skittering up as he does.
He climbs fairly high, swings forward, and dives, transforming as he does. How
predictable... he's going to dive, rocket, and pull up again... Okay. Where's
the rocket... hang on... surely he's not... good Primus, he is!
Fleet
transforms from robot to pyramid jet.
You
strike Chimera with ram.
And
that kinda was in the hurty zone. Not horrible agonizing torturous pain... but
it's cracked a few things that shouldn't be cracked normally. And Chimera is
sent end over end across the room.
Recovering
a moment before hitting the wall, she rights herself, and... gives Fleet
another one of those grins. "Now there's a good hit." She starts
transforming herself. "Two can play at that though..."
Chimera
jumps up, and folds into a pyramid jet.
Green
Pyramid Jet strikes you with ram for 19 points of damage.
Pyramid
Jet (Fleet) is slammed against the far wall. In jet mode. His nosecone was
already damaged from the impact with Chimera, and now his cockpit cracks and
shatters, shark-fin dents and, to an extent, crumbles... it's a good hit. It
was a gamble, and now Fleet is paying for it. He slides down the wall a little
before transforming and turning on his antigraves to stop himself. It's obvious
that he's not much longer in this fight. Now there's none of his usual style,
none of his normal grace... he just stays there, upside down, back against the
wall, and reaches out his arms.
The
yellow Cybertronian jet unfolds, revealing the robotic form of the seeker
Fleet.
Green
Pyramid Jet evades your Going Down In A Blaze Of... Naw. Let's Face It. He's
Just Getting Stomped attack.
Green
Pyramid Jet does a loop-di-loop, and a turn midair. "Giving up?" she
asks, "Or just enjoying being a stationary target?" Is she about to
let up? Uh. No. Poor Fleet.
You
evade Green Pyramid Jet's ballistic attack.
Fleet
only LOOKS like he's given up and decided to play stationary target! Instead he
twists aside at the last second, pushing himself off from the wall... but now
his flight is rather unsteady. Still, he's trying, and as he swerves
erratically in the air he raises his arms towards Chimera once more, the
weapons clicking as they switch modes.
You
strike Green Pyramid Jet with disruptor.
Green
Pyramid Jet cackles madly. Is there any other way for her to cackle? And then
her plasma generators start making that incredibly annoying hum. "You've
decided to play after all..." she says, "Good." Fire when ready?
Ready.
You
evade Green Pyramid Jet's Plasma attack.
Fleet's
optics widen as his erratic flight takes him out of the way of the... blast!
That was a PLASMA blast! Urgh. Fleet is trying to gain altitude, but he's
having a hell of a time just staying in the air, even given that the plasma
attack missed. Finally he does begin to give up, letting his erratic flight
path drift downwards. But yes... still playing.
Green
Pyramid Jet evades your Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle attack.
Green
Pyramid Jet isn't quite done yet. It's almost as though she's toying with
Fleet. And you know that cat-like smile would be on her face, as she purrs,
"Try and hit me, silly." Twist. Turn. Around the shots, and trying to
get close to Fleet--- and maybe brush him with those sharpened wing edges. Ow.
Green
Pyramid Jet strikes you with winged for 4 points of damage.
Fleet
is knocked down hard, losing the last bit of altitude that he had. He doesn't
respond to Chimera's taunts... mostly because he hasn't been listening to them.
Besides, he went into this expecting to lose, anyway. He lays still for a
moment, near the end of his endurance, before he pushes himself up and turns himself
over. There's another brief pause as his targeting processors struggle to
coordinate with his visual circuitry in figuring out where she is before he
just gives up and fires, knowing that if he doesn't know, he may not get
another chance.
You
strike Green Pyramid Jet with End Of The Line.
Green
Pyramid Jet cracks. Crumbles. Laughs. She's supposed to be running in terror at
this point, isn't she? Yeah. Normally. But instead she's transforming, and...
uh... Those are those arm lasers that she wasn't using earlier. Hi Fleet.
The
pyramid jet unfolds into a female robot.
Chimera
strikes you with armLaserThingies for 8 points of damage.
Fleet
falls to the ground unconscious.
Training
Drone <NCC/Trypticon> hovers over to Fleet and revives it with a quick
zap of energy. "You require additional training to defeat this unit at
this skill level."
Fleet
doesn't fall to the ground. Because he's already on the ground. His body jerks
at Chimera's shot, then he stops moving until the drone arrives. Of course,
even revived, he's still badly damaged, so he just kind of stays in place for
awhile, optics flickering as he looks around rather dully.
Chimera
hovers to the ground next to Fleet. "Ah well... good try."
Fleet
still doesn't bother to get up, although his optics do flicker dully up towards
Chimera. "Whydoan'cha' jus' go back t'mockin' me. S'much better at that,
an'way," he slurs. He turns his head to the side and seems to be
contemplating, oh, I dunno. Moving.
Chimera
frowns, and does something unexpected. She offers a hand. "You did your
best." She answers, "Why would I mock that?" Confusion? Sure.
Fleet
rolls over slowly, pushing himself up painfully. He studies Chimera's hand for
a moment. "Was doin' my best... and it din' stop you then, neither. 'Try
t'hit me, silly.' Wha' the scrap d'you think I was doin'?" Every now and
again Fleet goes into these moods. Most of the times taunts just roll of his
back as he concentrates on simple survival, but there is a part that is shamed
by his cowardice, the part that tries to rationalize at other times, and at
times like this... "I doan' need reminders on how pathetic I am. 'Ve
already got my name."
Chimera
tilts her head, "Trying to hit me. But as an opponent, I need to try and
rattle you... make you miss me, because you're too worried about what I'm
saying." She shrugs, "Pathetic... I've seen worse."
"Hrrrmph,"
Fleet hrrrmphs. "Tend not to thin' 'bout what the other's sayin' durin'
battle. 'Stead, it all hits me at once when it's over." He finally accepts
Chimera's hand (and would have last pose, but his player forgot to type it in).
"'Course... m'always rattled in combat. M'always rattled anytime. If I
din' learn how to shoot even when rattled, I'd be in a lotta trouble
now..." His movements are still slow, and he looks down at himself.
"Lemmee get outta here. 'Feel lot better when this is all gone..."
Chimera
grins. "If you like." She's not comfortable. But then again, she doesn't
mind discomfort.
Fleet
minds being barely above shutdown! He stumbles out, then straightens when the
mock-damage leaves him, his expression calming... somewhat.
You
leave the Holo Arena.
NCC
Arena
A huge enclosed oval structure, the Arena
is now nothing more than a deathtrap. What were once tiered rows of seats are
now seamless walls that slope sharply downwards into a deep gloom. The arena
floor, once a flat expanse of dull metal has sunk further into the ground and
reconfigured itself, dark shadows hiding the massed array of spikes and
treacherous pits that the surface has become. The Imperial box has become a
virtual bunker, thick armor plates hiding the opulence inside. Small gleams of
light in the shadows hint at hidden weaponry now exposed, and overall, the
arena complex is now an extremely dangerous place to linger - especially if you
happen to be opposed to the Decepticon Empire.
