Trypticon Training Room
The setting could be New York City, but something is wrong. The city is in ruins, its skyscrapers toppled, is streets strewn with rubble. Yes, even the World Trade Center (recall that the MUSH Earth split from the real world in 1984). Somewhat out of place is the training room console that Fleet stands behind, where he types a few last commands.
Scavenger enters from the Troop Quarters to the west.
Scavenger has arrived.
Scavenger looks around with a slight measure of surprise. Though, of course, he's used to the holographic technology, seeing it in action is always a bit of a surprise. He would swear he was really in New York City, a city he's got some good memories of, for an Earth city. Lots of destruction done there, over the years. "Impressive," he says. And clearly the playground of a seeker, lots of buildings to dart in and around and to hide an aerial assualt.
"The setting was already in the system," Fleet explains before, for some odd reason, shuddering slightly. "I was just about to add in the drone's behavior, since this setting doesn't have drone defaults." It's only then that the pastel seeker looks up to see who's joined him. "Ah. Scavenger, right?"
"Right," Scavenger replies. "I was on my way in here to get a little training in myself..after Long Haul creamed me, I figured I could use the practice..." He shrugged. "And you're...Fleet, right?" He vaguely remembered helping Scrapper with some repairs to a pastel seeker, but couldn't be certain of the name.
Fleet? Fight a Constructicon? Yikes! The seeker nods his head. "That's right. Fleet." Well, hey... he fought /Scourge/ here too recently, and as long as there aren't any malfunctions, training room pain goes away quickly enough, so why not? He cocks his head and studies Scavenger a moment. "Well, it would save me from having to reset the drone..."
"Always said that thing was more trouble than it's worth," Scavenger agreed amiably. Fight a seeker? Hmmm. Tricky, since the Constructicons are more ground-based, but doable easily enough. Jet, constructicon equipment, or even cassette, everybody gets shot the same.
"All right, then," Fleet replies cheerfully, hitting a final button to 'hide' the console while the battle is going on before leaping easily in the air. Once he's reached a decent height he holds out his arms and begins to fall 'forward' relative his position until he is close to completely upside down, head pointed towards Scavenger, and at that point he swings his weapon-mounted right arm in the Constructicon's direction. The whole motion somehow appears to take more time than it really does.
Fleet misses Scavenger.
Scavenger leaps out of the way of the attack, throwing himself easily to one side. No chance of hitting the seeker while he's in the air, so laser pistol time it is!
You evade Scavenger's laser fire attack.
Fleet, still slanted downward, pirouettes out of the way of the laser fire before stretching both of his arms forward, hands curled into fists, and dives for Scavenger in a jet-propelled punch.
Scavenger evades your Fleet Fist attack.
Scavenger avoids this attack with a roll and tries a trick that was at least somewhat successful with Long Haul. As he rolls, he waits until his back is in the propper position, and once more, flips his shovel up to thwack Fleet with.
You evade Scavenger's shovel strike numbah 2! attack.
The moment Scavenger dodges out of the way of Fleet's attack, Fleet is once more on the rise, thus allowing him to avoid the shovel clanging in his direction. As he rises he begins to swing his legs forward and up faster than his head is going until he's once more diagonal-downward towards Scavenger, only this time from a different direction and positioned so that his front side is facing more up than down. A faint click can be heard as he reaches both arms in the other's direction, indicating a weapon's switch-over from energy to solid ammunition.
You strike Scavenger with Rail Gun.
Kapow! The amunition strikes Scavenger in the shoulder, causing some damage. Nothing to impair arm function, but an ouch all the same. Forgoing projectile power to the moment, he launches himself into the air at Fleet, fists first.
Scavenger strikes you with flying fists! for 6 points of damage.
The attack hits Fleet in the face, causing his head to snap back and flipping him upright. The seeker uses the momentum to his advantage, however, as he continues turning and brings one of his pastel boots up towards the Constructicon, intending to use the other to kick off and once more give himself some room to move.
You strike Scavenger with Pastel Seeker Hookerboots.
The blow is enough to knock Scavenger away, but hardly enough to knock him out of the air. Hey! This seeker's kinda... wimpy! At that though, the Constructicon lets out a maliscious chuckle, before launching a kick of his own.
Scavenger strikes you with tread-shot for 7 points of damage.
Gee, does Scavenger not read the memos or something? He's probably the last Decepticon in the Empire to have figured out /that/ little detail. Fleet had started to curve into an upright position when Scavenger delivers his kick, and thus it lands in the area that would count as the abdomen in a human. It dents the structure and scuffs the paint, but does little more damage than that, partially because Fleet uses the force of the blow to fly backwards. He looks something like an ice-skater, crouched forward as he moves smoothly backwards, arms pointed towards the Constructicon.
You strike Scavenger with Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle <Pulse Mode>.
Scavenger gives a slight yelp from the blast, but really, it was more of an annoyance than anything else. Rather than pursue the seeker, he again draws his weapon, a slightly sinister glint in his optic band. Let's see... account for movement and distance... There. That should let him bullseye on of the pannels on the side of the seeker's cockpit.
You evade Scavenger's laser fire attack.
NOT... really. Fleet, who was already crouched forward, dives easily underneath the laser fire. He curves downward beneath the Constructicon, twirling as he does so that when he's directly beneath Scavenger, he's also facing upwards. One hand comes up, index finger pointed, other fingers relaxed, and once more his weapon is engaged.
You strike Scavenger with Death By A Thousand Papercuts.
Another zap for Scavenger, but again, more of an annoyance than crippling. Sure, it'll wear him down over time, but Scavenger doesn't plan to let that happen. Instead, he lets gravity take it's hold, angeling downward to, basically, drop onto Fleet.
You evade Scavenger's hey, who turned on the gravity? attack.
But who said Fleet has any intention of staying there? By the time Scavenger has fallen to where Fleet was, he's somewhere else and rising. Once more, arms come out and he falls forward, but this time as he dives he transforms, and this time, at the nadir of his dive, he unleashes on of his rockets.
Fleet transforms from robot to pyramid jet.
You strike Scavenger with Rocket.
KABOOM! Rocking under the explosion of the rocket, Scavenger kicks in his flight systems again, saving himself from a nasty tumble. His pride's smarting a bit now, such as it is, but a few laser blasts up his aft might well be the solution.
Scavenger strikes you with laser fire for 11 points of damage.
Pyramid Jet (Fleet) took a chance moving into his weaker mode to use his better weapon, and now he's suffering for it. The laser scores him along his underside, causing him to cry out in pain as armor is cut through, and so, to prevent more of /that/ kind of harsh damage, he transforms, the scoring rearranging itself so that it's now on the outsides of his arms, insides of his legs, and below his repositioned cockpit. Now upright he twirls around so that he's once more facing Scavenger and fires off a quick, low powered shot.
The yellow Cybertronian jet unfolds, revealing the robotic form of the seeker Fleet.
Scavenger evades your Disruptor attack.
Scavenger's actually reasonably agile, for a Constructicon and pretty good in the air. Maybe not as good as Scrapper with his funny flying wing, but good enough. Time again, for a direct assault, to press things home. Another double fisted blow, perhaps, harder this time.
Scavenger strikes you with supah-flying fist for 9 points of damage.
Fleet is once more struck in his midsection, this time a bit higher, causing his cockpit to crack, but not yet shatter. Constructicons do hit hard, and he curses himself for letting this one get close enough to do so. The Seeker drops beneath Scavenger and falls back, twirling in the air to come upright before balling his right hand into a fist and pointing the weapon attached to that arm at him. >Click<
You strike Scavenger with Rail Gun.
POW! This shot takes a bit of the armor out of Scavenger's shoulder, adding to a long list of minor injuries Fleet's inflicted upon him in the fight, enough to make his arm just a bit on the twitchy side. Fair enough then. Dropping to get close to the seeker, he plans his next attack. If the hand won't function, the foot will!
Scavenger strikes you with tread-shot for 4 points of damage.
Fleet seems to recall that the hand was doing just fine, but ah, well... This kick shatters Fleet's already cracked cockpit, but this time Fleet doesn't skitter off quite yet, instead leaning forward to swing his fist. Inelegant, but... eh.
Scavenger evades your Fleet Fist attack.
A quick jet backwards takes Scavenger out of the range of Fleet's fist, easily avoiding the blow. Too far away to return with a physical strike, it's back to shooting the seeker with his gun. Let's see if he can plug one of those vents this time.
You evade Scavenger's laser fire attack.
No, not this time. Once more the pastel wonder twirls out of the way of the laser strike, leaning back a little to ensure that the attack passes him by. Right shoulder in Scavenger's direction, he raises his arm to follow and fires again.
You strike Scavenger with Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle.
Scavenger rocks under the blast, cursing as the melted bits of his armor run down his chest and start falling to the ground below. Given, as he's witnessing, that trying to shoot the seeker is about a 50/50 split, he rockets himself towards him and, before he gets into fist range, activates his shovel again, spinning it around on it's joint so he can bring it down from over his head.
Scavenger strikes you with overhead shovel strike for 9 points of damage.
>CLANG<
The seeker is hit hard in the head, effectively knocking him from the sky. He crashes in the ground and shakes his head as he attempts to clear it. Fleet is barely hanging on at this point, but still he manages to raise his arm anyway to fire off another attack.
Scavenger evades your Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle <Pulse Mode>.
Quick on the evade as ever, Scavenger easily sidesteps the blast and lets himself fall downward, landing a short distance away from Fleet, pulling his pistol again. He's got to just about have the seeker on the ropes right now, or so he hopes. Let's see what it takes to finish him.
You evade Scavenger's laser fire attack.
Fleet rolls out of the way of Scavenger's strike before managing to pull himself into a crouch. His pose is unsteady but determined. Win or lose... most likely the later. He once more raises his right arm but, weak as he is, he's forced to steady it with his left before he fires.
You strike Scavenger with ←Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle <Pulse Mode>.
Another blast, another bit of melted armor. Scavenger would be leaving a mess if this was real. Like a whole bunch of stings, and he is mad. Once more, he goes for a physical attack, launching himself at Fleet, fists forward again.
You evade Scavenger's double flying fist attack.
A twist, a backwards duck of the head, and Fleet manages to dodge the attack. He may not be far from the final fall, but he's going to put up as much of a fight as he can first, so as Scavenger passes to the side he strikes his left foot out in a kick.
Scavenger evades your Pastel Seeker Hookerboots attack.
Pure luck saves Scavenger from a blow this time, he's been lucky, pushing what little agility he's got to the maximum in this bout. Well, let's give as good as we're getting here. Righting himself, he launches a jumping kick at Fleet.
Scavenger strikes you with tread-shot for 4 points of damage.
Training Drone hovers over to Fleet and revives it with a quick zap of energy. "You require additional training to defeat this unit at this skill level."
Once more,
>CLANG<
>THUNK<
Fleet thumps to the ground, but this time he doesn't pull himself back up until the drone wakes him up. He sits there dully for a moment as his systems come sluggishly back on-line, then raises his head to take in his opponent. Well, he's used to losing, and still, he didn't seem to fare too badly. The yellow seeker finally clambers to his feet. "Well," he finally says, "that was certainly more interesting than the drone, at least."
His odd compulsion to tear into something satisfied, Scavenger can go back to being sickeningly cheerful. "You didn't do too bad," he says. "I got /lucky/ quite a few times. One or two better shots, and it'd have been me on the floor." True enough, and he can practically hear some of the more warrior-oriented Constructicons yelling at him for admitting it, but hey, being a jerk seldom pays off.
Fleet nods. "Well... I must go on patrol now. Thank you for the distraction." And with that, the pastel wonder limps towards the recently reappeared exit, looking forward to the reset once he's free of this room.
