Trypticon
Training Room
This stark, spacious chamber is
well-reinforced and shielded to stand up to the strain of many practice bouts.
A training drone stands in one corner of the room, ready for a workout. The
walls are sheathed in protective alloys that house sensors and cameras to
project to the shielded monitors, allowing the combatants to observe their
fight and progress. Off to the side are a few seats for spectators to observe
the combatants and let out a cheer or two.

Catechism
has arrived.
Well,
well, what have we here? Three seekers, yellow, blue, and green. Too bad one is
MSE, but hey, there are plenty of MSE seekers, and some can even hold their
own. Fleet, who, against his own will, is actually ranking Decepticon, looks at
the others and smiles just slightly. "All right. Glad you guys were
willing to make it. I appreciate your making time." He pauses, wondering
if he should practice being angry this battle.
Verdant
smiles slightly. "Not a problem. Though not my primary function... it is
always good to exercise my combat skills." More and more, he seems to find
himself pairing up with Fleet and Catechism these days. It is a feeling of
comradery, a feeling he enjoys.
Catechism
seems to have better luck hitting things when she's pissed off, but that's
probably just a weird statistical fluke. In any case, she's glad to have
another non-gumby Seeker around who is on decent terms with her. Now that
Catechism knows that her usual flying partner might get Sweeped, she's got keep
her optics open for new options. She shrugs blithely and says with a grin,
"I need to get more practice in, anyway."
Fleet
is not going to get Sweeped! At least, he has no intention of doing so, but
Fate and the Lady may have other ideas for him. The pastel yellow seeker taps a
few keys and pull up... the desert of Carbombya. How nice. Might as well get
used to operating in a desert environment, after all... and then he takes off,
his posture readying, but doesn't attack. "Well, whenever you guys are
read." <attack_ok>
Though
often lacking in personal iniative, Verdant's also smart enough to know
sometimes, it's best to just take action. With as much quickness as he can
muster, he brings up his arm weapon and fires on Fleet.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser (low power burst) attack.
Catechism
gets in the air. The ground is not the place for her. Yadda yadda yadda. A
quick hop, a flare of bootjets, and she's up and away. Catechism really hasn't
fought Fleet in a while, and he's had that agility upgrade. Ought to make
things interesting. However, Verdant's even more of an unknown variable, so
it's the scientist that she targets. She aims for one of his wings, keying up
her taser.
Catechism
misses Verdant with its taser attack.
Fleet
is going to have a hard time getting angry if he doesn't get hit, but then,
curiously, he's not often angry in combat anyway (hypocritical Autobots aside).
In the early moments he just loves the feeling of sky, of dancing away from
other's shots, to be angry, and later he's too worried about his own
survival.... he pirouettes out of the way of Verdant's attack, one arm raised,
other held out, and fires when the green seeker comes into view. Catechism may
hit hard, but Verdant has that... that whatever it is, and that hurts worse
than anything the conehead can dish out!
Verdant
evades your Death By A Thousand Papercuts attack.
Attacked
from two sides, it takes some fancy footwork for Verdant to avoid strikes from
both Fleet and Catechism, but he manages it anyway. For him, Fleet is the more
known quality, a master of aerial agility. Perhaps it would be best if he
focused on Catechism and tested her mettle. Launching himself into the air, he
takes aim at her and fires.
Verdant
strikes Catechism with disruptor.
Catechism
notes with some interest that the botanist manages to avoid both her shot and
Fleet's. It's that interest that keeps her from paying enough attention to get
out of the way when he shoots at her. All that said, she parley notices the
hit. Eh, a little scoring on her paint, and that's it. She brings her arm gun
to bear again, this time snapping off a zap-blast, and arcs above, taking an
irregular path.
Catechism
misses Verdant with its Zap! attack.
She
might not notice /that/, but just wait until Verdant pulls out his 'big guns'.
For the moment the yellow seeker continues to focus on the green, but it's
almost more in the interest of seeing that both his foes take damage before
himself than anything. With unconscious flourish Fleet twists and then
dive-flies at Verdant, attempting to clip the back of his head/intakes with a
fly-by punch.
Verdant
evades your Flyby Punch attack.
By
dodging Catechism's blast, Verdant is only barely able to dodge Fleet's flying
punch, but he manages it all the same. Call it a good survival instinct, call
it dumb luck, but he can sometimes prove to be a darn hard bugger to hit. Time
to push his attack a little more, conentrating on the one he's proven he can
hit: Catechism. A taser bolt perhaps...?
Verdant
misses Catechism with his taser attack.
Catechism
actually flips back to avoid Verdant's blast. It's different than her usual
half-turn, but these training session are good for practicing new things. The
thing about the back flip is that it means she can't see her target for a
while, which has its disadvantages. Also, if she's having this much trouble
hitting a noncombatant, she doesn't want to think about going after Fleet. So
once Catechism has righted herself, she orients on Verdant again, selecting her
disruptor this time.
Catechism
strikes Verdant with disruptor.
Anger,
anger... but Fleet is not an angry robot, and neither of these two are
particularly offensive! Plus, they're concentrating on each other, which has
left him sa- wait a minute! They're /ignoring/ him! Desperately, Fleet tries to
grasp at that... tries to stir up some resentment for being dismissed (a state
he usually craves), and can feel the beginnings of the stirrings, but still,
little enough. Catechism. She should know better. Verdant is MSE, and yet she
concentrates on him over Fleet! The yellow seeker turns away after his fly-by
and spins quickly, flinging an arm out and throwing a few laser pulses in the
conehead's direction.
Catechism
evades your Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle <Pulse Mode> attack.
Catechism's
attack hurts Verdant, but not by too terribly much. He recovers quickly and
decides now's as good a time as ever to let her see what he can really do. If
successful, it should prove quite surprising. He arms his "special"
weapon and lets loose with his rot ray.
Verdant
strikes Catechism with Rot Ray.
Catechism
takes a hit. Eh, it doesn't seem too bad, but she glances at the wound, anyway,
and before her optics, the metal corrodes and breaks as she watches, widening
the wound and eating away at the rest of the surrounding metal. Her optics widen
both with pain and surprise. Now that's something special! However, unless she
misses her guess, that probably took a bit out of the scientist. Catechism
doesn't have time to charge up her magnetic coils for a gauss attack, but she
does snap off a laser shot, aiming for one of Verdant's guns. Then, she jinks
off sharply to the right, heading straight towards Fleet.
Catechism
misses Verdant with its laser attack.
Fleet
keeps missing! Why does Fleet keep missing! Now he tries to focus on that as
Catechism flies right toward him, flying backwards to make it harder for her to
close the distance and reaching his hands towards her. "Dammit!" he
snarls. "Take a hit, already!" Of course, she just took one from
Verdant, but that's not what he's thinking of here.
Catechism
evades your Rail Gun attack.
While
it is true that using his rot ray takes something out of Verdant, it doesn't
make him helpless. A dive and a roll allows him to avoid the attack, and swoop
down in, bringing his feet up at the last second to try for a kick on
Catechism.
Verdant
strikes Catechism with kick.
Catechism
finally notices that Fleet is shooting at her, too. He's just not having as
much luck hitting her as Verdant is. Speaking of Verdant, he just kicked a big
ol' hole through one of her wings, and it hurt a lot more than his wussy taser.
Still, she decides to spread the love and stop picking on Verdant for the time
being. Catechism lunges, grabbing at Fleet. She's going to see just how fast he
really is now.
Catechism
succeeds in grasping Fleet, throwing him off-balance.
"Wha-?!"
exclaims the startled yellow seeker as he's grabbed. "Hey, leggo!" he
shouts, pulling a gray fist back and delivering it to the conehead's face,
intent on making her regret restricting his freedom of movement.
You
have set the custom name for attack punch in mode 1 to "Fleet Fist."
You
strike Catechism with Fleet Fist.
With
their attention now focused on each other, Verdant has ample opportunity to
strike at either of them. Best to aim for Fleet, given his current state of
grappling with Catechism. Taking careful aim, he lets loose with his laser.
Verdant
strikes you with arm laser for 9 points of damage.
Catechism
takes a punch to the face. It only hurts marginally more than Verdant's taser,
so that's not saying much. It's not enough to get her to loosen her grip on the
yellow Seeker. She laughs, tightens her grip on Fleet, and tries to swing him
around and towards Verdant. Once she's happy with the trajectory, she lets go.
You
strike Verdant with ram.
You
take 6 points of damage from striking Verdant.
Verdant
reels from the impact with Fleet and spirals from the sky, the glass of his
cockpit section notably cracked. He's hurt, he's angry, and perhaps he's not
thinking as well as he should. As such, when he regains his senses, he flies
forward, intent on attacking, not Catechism, but Fleet, his botanical knife
sliding easily into his hand.
Verdant
strikes you with botanist's knife for 6 points of damage.
Fleet
is thrown into Verdant, but is able to brace himself enough that the impact
does minimal damage... that isn't that minimal. Like Verdant, he tumbles after
impact, his intakes badly dented by the impact, and although he's able to
stabilize his flight before the botanist, the distraction of doing so leaves
him open to Verdant's blade, which slices into his left wing.
"Aaarruggh!" he cries incoherently before transforming, working hard
to compensate for his damaged wing as he flies back towards the gal who through
him. "I've had enough of this!"
Fleet
transforms from robot to pyramid jet.
Catechism
evades your Rocket attack.
Catechism
looks inordinately pleased with herself. Yeah, ranged attacks may be where
she's a Viking, but when it comes to practice, she can afford to spice things
up a little. Catechism jets up, letting Fleet's rockets go below her. Verdant
doesn't look too happy...but neither does Fleet. Choices, choices. If Fleet has
pulled out his jet mode, he's got to be hurting. She could try taking him out.
However, Catechism still knows less about Verdant and decides to play with him
a bit more. Hmm, wonder how he likes Mr. Gauss?
Catechism
strikes Verdant with gauss.
Verdant
staggers under the attack, tumbling to the ground and rolling awkwardly to get
himself back up. Though it was again Catechism that hurt him, he's more
concerned with doing damage, with actually winning. The more he fights these
days, it seems, the more a competitive urge springs out in him. Taking aim, he
decides to unleash his special power on Fleet.
You
evade Verdant's Rot Ray attack.
Pyramid
Jet (Fleet) tilts and transforms, the action breaking his momentum and allowing
him to twist out of the way of Verdant's special attack (though, thankfully,
he's not made aware that it's anything beyond the ordinary kind of attack). He
spares a glance for the green seeker that just shot at him, but decides to
continue to concentrate on the conehead. Having passed her in his rocket run,
he now flies at her back, twisting again as he gets close enough to bring both feet
towards the middle of her back.
The
yellow Cybertronian jet unfolds, revealing the robotic form of the seeker
Fleet.
You
strike Catechism with Pastel Seeker Hookerboots.
Catechism
grins widely as her magnetic blast tears into Verdant. Looks like he's not
built too sturdy, unlike a certain green MSE Seeker that she knows. Then, she
gets kicked in the back by Fleet, which hurts just as much as Verdant's kick.
Another point toward Seeker conformity! Now, she descends to the ground and
shakes herself. She's not scared at all, and she's been enjoying herself,
but... patrols calls. Catechism waves up to the other two Seekers sadly and
calls out, "I've got to jet, guys. Have fun." Still, she learned a
lot here. It was a useful session.
Catechism
has disconnected.
Though
now absent Catetchism, Verdant is more than willing to fight on amd
successfully launches himself into the sky, angling to get behind Fleet and let
him have it with his lasers. At this point, he knows both of them are reeling a
bit and that each shot truly counts.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser attack.
Of
COURSE Verdant's willing to fight on! He had been attacking Fleet for a while
anyway! But with his distraction gone, Fleet's now able to concentrate on
returning the favor and, as he spin-dodges the lasers coming from behind him,
he reaches out both his arms the very instant Verdant is in view and fires, his
expression set with only the slightest snarl touching the left side of his
mouth.
Verdant
evades your Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle attack.
If
there's one thing Verdant's developed over the years, particularly as a seeker
who's focus wasn't combat, it's a good survival instinct, one that prompts him
to just the right time to throw himself out of the way of the blast, bringing
his weapon up to return fire, this time with his disruptor.
You
evade Verdant's disruptor attack.
Survival?
That's Fleet's middle name! Fleet Survival... uhm... Fleet! Yeah, that works.
He twists to the side to evade Verdant's attack, moving this time, not with
great flourish, but the minimum amount necessary to avoid being hit. The hum of
his engines purr louder as he prepares to take off but he does move further,
not just yet... now, left arm pointed at Verdant, he raises that arm and points
at the green seeker, an audible click indicating a change in the operational
mode of his weapon towards "increased hurtiness."
Verdant
evades your Rail Gun attack.
Launching
himself higher into the air, Verdant lets the attack sail under him and breaths
a sigh of relief. He remebers how nasty some of Fleet's weapons can be. Still,
even a scientist like him knows when to push an attack and he takes aim,
feeling the subtle tingle that comes from employing his most peculiar weapon.
Verdant
strikes you with Rot Ray for 7 points of damage.
Verdant's
Rot Ray attack continues to sear away at you, doing 3 damage.
Verdant's
Rot Ray attack wears off at last.
Fleet
is struck by above just over the cockpit, and as the attack eats away at him it
exposes blackened and charred circuitry beneath. He swears audibly in his
native language and rockets after Verdant, intent on making the other suffer
for hurting him so with his... weak, sad little light gray fists.
Verdant
evades your Fleet Fist attack.
Verdant
jerks backwards, dodging Fleet's punch and allowing a small smile of
satisfaction to grace his features. Good. Get him mad, get him careless. Of
course, getting someone mad at you when you're not all that powerful isn't
always a good idea, but it can sometimes help. A low power burst from his arm
weapons should be a nice follow up.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser (low power burst) attack.
Fleet
may be mad, and he may be missing, but he's not exactly careless, as Verdant
learns when the attack misses. Fleet twists to the side out of the way of the
laser and in response brings his knee up in the direction of the other's torso
in a sudden, sharp movement.
You
have set the custom name for attack kick in mode 1 to "Fleet Knee."
Verdant
evades your Fleet Knee attack.
Only by
the grace of losing his footing does Verdant avoid Fleet's kick, nearly falling
on his aft for the effort, but the botanist's wits are quick, as he uses this
as chance to take to the air, rocketing away from Fleet, while unleashing his
taser attack.
You
evade Verdant's taser attack.
Fleet
gives chase, once more risking jet mode as he dive-leaps after the other and
transforms in a single, smooth motion, a slight tilt to the right to avoid the
taser seemingly part of the whole action. In his faster mood jet mode he
catches up quickly and releases his grasping hook/trailing line, intending to
put the other in a position where he'll have a harder time hitting or
manauvering.
Fleet
transforms from robot to pyramid jet.
Verdant
evades your grasp attack.
Verdant
barely avoids the line, getting one of his wings nicked for the trouble. He'll
have a hard time keeping up with Fleet in jet mode, but he's smart enough not
to try and fight the superior fighter in his own alternate form. Best to just
try and nail him with what weapons he has now, like his laser.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser attack.
Pyramid
Jet (Fleet) tilts again, once more letting the laser fly past him even as he
reels in his line and continues to climb. Once he's reached sufficient height
he intentionally shuts down his engines, flicking his flaps to let him twist
sideways in the air, turning swiftly from nose-up to nose-down and then diving
after Verdant once more, this time bringing on-line something a lot more
dangerous than his towing line.
Verdant
evades your Rocket attack.
Swooping
around the rocket, Verdant gathers his nerve and charges forward, fist
clenched. A physical attack might not be his strongest move, but with Fleet
still in jet mode, a blow to his cockpit or other vunerable areas might do
well.
You
evade Verdant's punch attack.
Verdant
just tried to engage in melee with a jet? Verdant just tried to engage in melee
with a jet! Oooookay. Afore mentioned jet transforms suddenly, bringing his
nosecone out of reach of other's attack just in time, but his forward motion is
still considerable and, even as badly hurt as he is, he doesn't try to slow
himself down, much, attempting to hit the botanist in a jet propelled
body-slam.
The
yellow Cybertronian jet unfolds, revealing the robotic form of the seeker
Fleet.
You
strike Verdant with ram.
You
take 4 points of damage from striking Verdant.
OK,
that was probably stupid of him, especially for someone supposedly as smart as
he is, but then again, botany and combat may as well be two separate species.
Hurt by the impact, it takes him a moment to work through his daze and find
Fleet, but he does and, wishing to correct his error, decides to make another
play for his rot ray.
Verdant
strikes you with Rot Ray for 5 points of damage.
Verdant's
Rot Ray attack continues to sear away at you, doing 2 damage.
Verdant's
Rot Ray attack wears off at last.
Fleet
screams as Verdant's rot ray once more eats into him and he shoots backwards in
an attempt to flee a pain he cannot escape. He's hurting now, and bad... it's
looking rather like this round will go to the botanist, but still, he attempts
to make a good accounting for himself as he flings his arms once more at his
foe. *Click*
Verdant
evades your Rail Gun attack.
Verdant
almost panics in the face of the attack, but it works in his favor, and he cuts
his engines, letting gravity help him dodge, before recovering. He actually
feels confident, knowing he may well have Fleet on the rocks, and intends to
press his attack, firing his lasers.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser attack.
Fleet
is on the rocks, and very nearly spent, thus forcing him to rely now on attacks
that don't burn quite so much energon. He leans back, letting the laser fly by
him, and then leans forward, unknowingly taking a clasic Superman pose as he
employs one of the affore mentioned lesser attacks.
You
strike Verdant with Death By A Thousand Papercuts.
Verdant
takes some damage from the attack, sustaining damage to his wings, but not
enough to keep him out of the air. Quite aware that every movement is do or
die, he has to be careful, while still pressing where he can. Times like this,
a lower power shot may be just as effective as a higher powered one, so that is
what he uses.
You
evade Verdant's arm laser (low power burst) attack.
Fleet
is low on power... so he largely cuts what he's feeding to his antigravs,
employing only enough to control his descent and angel it in Verdant's
direction, aiming once more mid-chest with both of his pretty yellow feet.
You
strike Verdant with Pastel Seeker Hookerboots.
Verdant
feels under the kick, feeling some of his armor give and crack. Down to almost
fumes, he decides to land and take up the attack from their, firing upon Fleet
as he decends.
You
evade Verdant's disruptor attack.
Fleet
follows Verdant down, mostly because he's so low on energy himself and melee
attacks don't burn much. He ducks under his sparring partner's disruptor and,
the moment he touches down, leaps at the botanist, bringing gray fist upwards
towards what would be the stomach area in a human.
Verdant
evades your Fleet Fist attack.
Verdant
sidesteps the attack, though he feels the rush of air from it, narrowly
avoiding further damage to his cockpit area. He lashes out reflexively, not so
much aiming as just reacting with an open palmed strike.
You
evade Verdant's slap attack.
Fleet
moves his head to the side far enough to avoid Verdant's slap, then brings both
of his hands forward. At first it seems he intends another punch, but no... it
becomes readily apparent that he's going for a close-ranged attack with his
energy weapons. Then, hit or miss, the yellow seeker collapses, the last of his
reserves spent.
Verdant
evades your Rail Gun attack.
Verdant
avoids the attack, throwing himself forward in a desparate gamble. Going on
fumes himself, it's amazing to him that he's still functioning at all, but he
is.
